Download Tether directly from us. Don't install it from the App Store on a Mac — that's the iPad version, not the Mac app.

If Tether told you to update on your Mac, download the .dmg above and drag it over your existing copy in Applications. Your account and settings carry over, so you can get straight back to the session.
Installing

Install Tether
On iPhone or iPad, open the App Store listing and tap Get. On Mac, open the
.dmgfrom the Mac card above and drag Tether into your Applications folder — not the App Store. -
Sign in
Launch Tether and sign in with the same account you use for Studio.

Start capturing
Photos are resized, tagged, and uploaded to your workspace automatically, over Wi-Fi or cellular.
Checked by Apple
The iPhone and iPad builds go through App Review. The Mac download is signed and notarized, so macOS opens it without a Gatekeeper warning.
Updates itself
The App Store keeps iPhone and iPad current. On Mac, Tether checks on launch and tells you when a new version is ready.
